I have decided that I am going to publish my portfolio while it is in progress. I am hoping it will keep me accountable if I work on it and then make a blog post and share it on LinkedIn. I am splitting time between working on my portfolio and completing the Google UX Design certification program. I feel like I don't really know what I am doing, but I am great at searching google and teaching myself to do things so hopefully it will get better as it progresses.

This evening I added information to the empathize, research, and define portion of my portfolio. This includes materials about my user research including survey results, a user persona, a journey map, and some competitive audit information. I think I need to add some more text to explain everything. I have a bit of the information architecture done and will hopefully add it over the next week. I am at the point in the program where I need to do user testing of my initial prototype, but I need to learn how to do that so I can actually have people use the prototype and get feedback.

For tonight's addition to my portfolio I needed to figure out /learn the following things:

  • how to create better charts for the data from a google form. Working in spread sheets of any kind is one of my technological weaknesses. I created two new charts to better display some of the responses from my supply survey. Now I just need to figure out how to change the colors so I can match it to my portfolio colors (which I am still deciding on)

  • how to use Wix. I have been a Google Sites person for quite a while now but I felt like I needed something with a bit more umph for this portfolio. Again, thank goodness for Google search.

Here are the plans for my next portfolio update:

  • continue to add to the empathize, research, and define section

  • begin adding material to the ideation section of my portfolio
